View/Navigate Cells

Overview

The View/Navigate Cells feature allows you to easily view and navigate between cells in your spreadsheet while staying within the addon. This tool is particularly useful when you need to review cell contents without switching back and forth between the addon and your spreadsheet.

How to Use

1. Accessing the Cell Navigator

1. Click the "Eye" icon (👁️) in the toolbar
2. The Cell Navigator window will open, showing the current cell's contents

2. Navigating Between Cells

Using Direction Buttons

• ← : Move one cell left
• → : Move one cell right
• ↑ : Move one cell up
• ↓ : Move one cell down

Using Direct Cell Reference

1. Type a cell reference (e.g., "A1", "B2") in the input field
2. Click "Go" or press Enter to jump to that cell

3. Viewing Cell Contents

The navigator displays cell contents in different formats:

• Text: Shown directly in the viewer
• URLs: Displayed as clickable links
• Images: Shown as embedded images
• Empty cells: Marked as "(empty)"

4. Auto-Selection

When you navigate to a cell using the Cell Navigator, that cell will automatically be selected in your spreadsheet.

Tips & Best Practices

1. Quick Navigation: Use keyboard shortcuts (if available in your browser) along with the direction buttons for faster navigation
2. Cell Reference Format: When entering cell references, use the standard format (e.g., "A1", "B2") - both uppercase and lowercase letters are accepted
3. Content Verification: Use this feature to quickly verify cell contents without leaving the addon interface

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

1. Cell Not Found
   • Ensure the cell reference is in the correct format (e.g., "A1")
   • Check that the cell exists within your spreadsheet's range
2. Content Not Displaying
   • Refresh the navigator
   • Check if the cell contains valid content
3. Navigation Buttons Not Working
   • Ensure you're not at the spreadsheet's boundaries
   • Refresh the addon if buttons become unresponsive

Additional Notes

• The navigator updates in real-time as you move between cells
• Large images or complex content may take a moment to load
• The feature works within the boundaries of your active spreadsheet
